Daegu city and Daegu Chamber of Commerce and Industry designated 20 companies including Hwarang Rubber Co., Ltd as the ‘Daegu 3030 Company’ in 2008. 'Daegu 3030 Company' is a system which is implemented to treat a manufacturer as a native company which was founded in a local area with the lapse of 30 years since its foundation with more 30 employees. The Daegu Municipal Government plans for a business designated as ‘Daegu 3030 Company’ to receive support such as a suspension of a tax official’s right to inquire and inspect, top priority to participate in overseas market pioneering and policy projects, and BOK’s total limit loan fund(C2 Fund), etc. The oldest company among the recently designated companies as ‘Daegu 3030 Company’ is Hwarang Rubber Co., Ltd founded in 1950. Hwarang is well-known as a manufacturing business of erasers marking the top stationery during the school days of the generations in their 50s and older.

There is a business in Daegu like a precious thing, which is sweeping over the Chinese market of 1.3 billion population solely with one eraser. Hwarang Rubber Co., Ltd.(CEO, Choi, Bong-in, aged 68) is located within the Distribution Complex at Sangyeok-dong, Buk-gu, Daegu producing and selling 30 sorts of eraser(general purpose, art and drawing, etc.) in the category of ‘JUMBO’, or ‘Nemona’ brand. Not only the present elementary school student but also those who used to go to school from the 1950s might use at least once without exception.
